TB Joshua, A Great Philanthropist Gone Too Soon – Otunba Sola Olatunji
Chairman of Ikale Heritage Development Association, Otunba Sola Olatunji has described the demise of the Founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Temitope Joshua, better known as Prophet TB Joshua, as a great loss to Nigeria, Ondo State and humanity.
The Arigidi Akoko-born cleric conducted a service Saturday evening but died later in the hospital at the age of 57 years.
“ We have lost the biggest tourism promoter in our country,” Otunba Olatunji said.”On account of his church activities, foreigners across Africa and the rest of the world come into Ikotun, a suburb in L agos in droves. He single handedly turned Ikotun to a tourism destination in Nigeria.
“TB Joshua changed the social and economic landscape of Ikotun as a prosperous part of Lagos. His philosophy was ‘remember the needy’.
“Joshua was famous across Africa, Europe and America. His YouTube channel, Emmanuel TV, had over 1,000,000 subscribers and was the world’s most viewed Christian ministry on the platform before it was suspended. The televangelist was greatly followed by many Christians worldwide.
“He was always ready to give. He related with the low and mighty in our society and made philanthropy the core values of his Church. He was a prophet not celebrated at home but adored abroad. Nigerians will miss you, Lagosians will miss you, Ondo State people especially Arigidi Akoko will miss you. Goodnight Temitope Balogun Joshua.”
