[BREAKING] Akeredolu Returns, Wins Ondo Guber Big
The incumbent Governor of Ondo State, and candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Satruday’s gubernatorial election, Aarakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on Sunday, won a resounding victory to rule the Sunshine State for the next four years.
The Chief Returning Officer for Ondo State, and Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka, declared Akeredolu winner of the election having scored the highest number of votes and secured more than the constitutional requirement of two-thirds of the local government areas in the state.
He earned the return ticket to the Government House in Akure with a whopping 292,830 votes.
Akeredolu’s closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, scored 195,791, while the candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, came a distant third with 69,127 votes.
