You have 30 days to leave our forests or face hell!
That was the stern warning an exasperated Emir of Muri in Taraba State, Abbas Tafida, issued to killer herders that have been unleashing hell on residents of the state.
A report monitored on Channels Television showed the Emir giving the ultimatum after Eid prayers on Tuesday.
He told criminal herders, in unmistakable terms, to vacate the forests or be flushed out.
The Emir’s order followed un-abating spate of kidnappings, killings, and attacks in the state by criminals suspected to be cattle herders.
The Emir, who spoke in the Hausa language, fingered Fulani herders as being the culprits and asked the leadership of Fulani Herdsmen to fish out the bad eggs among them.
“Our Fulani herdsmen in the forests, you came into this state and we accepted you,” the Emir said. “Why then will you be coming to towns and villages to kidnap residents, even up to the extent of raping our women?
“Because of this unending menace, every Fulani herdsman in this state have been given thirty days ultimatum to vacate the forests.
“We are tired of having sleepless nights and the hunger alone in the land is enormous and we will not allow it to continue,” the Emir said.
