At Last, Fani-Kayode Dumps PDP, Says God Led Him to APC
After several denials, former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has finally dumped his party of many years, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and formally joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, a party he has vilified so much.
The smooth-talking politician said God led him to dump PDP and join APC.
Fani-Kayode was presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the APC, and governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, and Zamfara Governor, Bello Matawale,Thursday, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Fani-Kayode, who has lately been running around APC chiefs and bigwigs, said he was led by God in his decision.
Speaking to State House Correspondents after the meeting with Buhari, Fani-Kayode said he decamped from the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for in the nation’s interest and particularly for national unity.
Not only that, the outspoken and highly temperamental politician thumbed his chest in self-adulation, claiming that he had been responsible for many other defections into the ruling party.
According to him, he was instrumental to defection of three PDP Governor to APC, including Dave Umahi (Ebonyi); Ben Ayade (Cross River) and Bello Matawale (Zamfara).
He further said he has friends across party lines and was wooing Governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu); Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Bala Mohammed (Bauchi) to join the ruling party.
