Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has urged those who have complaints about the ongoing electoral process to be patient as all complaints shall be looked into according to the provisions of the law.
He gave the assurance moments ago as activities resumed at the National Collation Centre, Abuja.
Tempers had been flaring, especially among opposition parties, following what they termed as the refusal by INEC Chairman to look into their complaints.
In fact, three of the opposition parties, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Labour Party, LP, and African Democratic Congress, ADC, jointly addressed a World Press Conference asking for the voiding of the election, intervention by President Muhammadu Buhari, and the sack of of the INEC Chairman who they accused had not acquitted himself creditably in the election.
But shortly before collation resumed, and the other political parties had restated their confidence in him for doing a good job so far, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu assured the aggrieved political parties that their complaints shall be looked into and reviewed, where possible.
