Few hours after the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, declared him wanted for alleged drug-related offence, the indicted former Commander of the Intelligence Response Team, IRT, Abba Kyari, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, has been arrested by the police and he is now cooling his heels in an NDLEA detention centre.
This was confirmed by NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi, in a press release issued in Abuja on Monday.
Kyari and four others were arrested, Monday, and handed over to the NDLEA for interrogation and investigation over his alleged involvement in a 21-kilogramme cocaine haul.
Babafemi said the agency would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that all persons involved in the cocaine deal face the full wrath of the law, at the end of ongoing investigation.
The suspended DCP Kyari is also being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, in the United States of America, after he was indicted in the mega fraud case involving Instagram celebrity and fraudster, Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi.
