The Attah and traditional ruler of Aiyede Kingdom, Ekiti State, Oba Abdul Mumini Adebayo Orisagbemi, was, Sunday night, at about 9.30p.m., attacked by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.
This was revealed through a statement issued by the Media and Publicity Consultant to the traditional ruler, Prince Bashir Adefaka.
The traditional ruler, whose security guards (provided by Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC) were reportedly withdrawn recently without any reason, was returning from Ijero Ekiti when he ambushed and attacked by some yet-to-be-identified assailants, at a spot at between Isan and Iludun, in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of the state.
The gunmen reportedly opened fire on the monarch’s SUV car and a bullet penetrated from the owner side of the vehicle and hit the Oba on his left leg. He was rushed to a specialist hospital in Oye, Oye Ekiti Local Government, where he was treated.
Adefaka further revealed that apart from the King, no member of the Royal Father’s entourage was hurt.
