IGP Recommends Frank Mba as CP Lagos; Idowu Omohunwa, CP Ogun
The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mr. Usman Alkali Baba, has recommended the appointments of Mr. Frank Mba, the current Commissioner of Police in charge Federal Border Patrol branch at the department of operations, as well as Mr. Idowu Owohunwa ,currently the Principal Staff Officer (PSO) to the IGP, as the next Commissioners of Police for Lagos State and Ogun State respectively.
The IGP made the recommendation for the two CPs to the Police Service Commission, PSC, which also got a new Chairman, former IGP, Dr. Solomon Arase,, during the week.
The recommendations wee contained in a letter dated January 24, 2023, signed by the Force Secretary, AIG Hafiz Inuwa, and has since been delivered to the Police Service Commission for activation.
Mr.Frank Mba had served as the Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, prior to his appointment as the Commissioner of Police in charge Federal Border Patrol branch at the department of operations.
Mba is taking over from CP Abiodun Alabi in Lagos State while Owohunwa, will be taking over from CP Lanre Bankole in Ogun State.
The letter said the postings were part of a concerted effort by the IGP to strengthen the strategic and operational readiness of the Police force in Lagos and Ogun commands.
The letter reads: “I am directed to humbly write and forward the proposed posting of the under-mentioned commissioners of police to State Commands indicated against their names for the Commission’s kind consideration and approval”.
“The Inspector General of Police is deploying the under-mentioned Commissioners of Police to strengthen the strategic and operational control of the commands.”
