Chairman of the Ikale Heritage Development Association (IHDA), Otunba Sola Olatunji, has called on Christians in Nigeria and all over the world to espouse the virtues of tolerance, love and selflessness like Jesus Christ.
Christians celebrated this year’s Good Friday in commemoration of the pains and suffering Christ went through because of his love for us.
“As the Christian faithful celebrate Good Friday and the resurrection on Sunday, I enjoin them to reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on Calvary,” Olatunji said in his message.
“Christ paid a debt he did not owe because of his love for mankind. Christians should know this by imbibing the virtues of love, tolerance perseverance and selflessness.
“We, as Christians, should be able to tolerate and accommodate one another showing love irrespective of religious, political and ethnic differences.”
Olatunji also uses the season to greet the governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and all Lagosians.
He added that all the Ikale people in the state should be their brother’s keeper and uphold the spirit of togetherness and remain resolute on “love for God and Nigerian.”
