2023: Ganduje Gives Political Appointees 24-Hour Quit Notice

Kano State Governor, Dr.  Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Sunday handed over a 24-hour quit notice to all political appointees seeking to run for office in next year’s general elections.

He ordered them to hand in their resignation letters latest tomorrow, Monday, April 18, 2022.

The ultimatum was conveyed via a three-paragraphs statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mallam Abba Anwar.

According to the governor’s spokesperson, “all political appointees running for elective offices in the forthcoming 2023 general elections are to resign from their respective positions.

“They are given between now to Monday 18th April, 2022, to resign. The directive is pursuance and or, compliance to section 84 (12) of the newly amended Electoral Act.”
