Just a year to the end of his tenure, Rivers Gov. Nyesom Wike, has sent packing members of the State Executive Council with immediate effect.
In the sweeping exercise, the governor, who is currently criss-crossing the country in pursuit of his presidential ambition, according to his Special Assistant Media, Kelvin Ebiri, on Tuesday, also relieved his Chief of Staff and Senior Special Assistant (Protocol) of their positions.
“His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, commends the members the Rivers State Executive Council for their service and contribution to the development of the State. He has also wished them the best in all their future endeavours.”
It instructed the sacked officials to hand over government properties in their possession to the most senior officers in their respective ministries.
