Kwara State government has arraigned eight persons suspected to have raped and murdered 24-year-old student of University of Ilorin Olajide Blessing Omowumi before an Ilorin High Court.
Abdulazeez Ismail, Ajala Moses Oluwatimileyin, Oyeyemi Timileyin Omogbolahan, Abdulkarim Shuaib, Kareem Oshioyemi Rasheed, Abdullateef Abdulrahman, Daud Bashir Adebayo and Akande Taiye Oladoja were charged with rape, murder and armed robbery.
Police said the suspects raped and killed a 300-Level student of University of Ilorin in her residence located at Tanke area of the Ilorin metropolis on June 2.
However, the eight suspects pleaded not guilty to the 11-count charge preferred against them while the Judge, Ibrahim Yusuf dismissed the application for bail, saying it is a capital offence.
Justice Yusuf adjourned the case till today (Wednesday) for hearing.
