Buhari Honours Kayode Ajulo with OON

In one of his last assignments at the Aso Rock Villa, President Muhammadu Buhari has honourone of the super stars in Nigeria’s judicial firmament, Dr. Olukayode Abraham Ajulo.

The President, in a wave of special honours released Sunday, gifted the popular Abuja lawyer with the National Honour of the Officer of the Order of the Niger, OON.

Ajulo’s name was listed at number 37 on the 85-member honours’ list.

A former National Secretary of the Labour Party, LP, and member of the Buhari Support Group, Ajulo, who holds a PhD in Law, was honoured for his contributions to national development and legal jurisprudence.

In a telephone chat with The Crest from London, Ajulo expressed gratitude to the outgoing President, saying that Buhari deserves gratitude, not flacks from Nigerians. History, and posterity, will judge Buhari well.

On the national honour that Buhari just bestowed on him, Ajulo said: “This is the biggest honour for me yet. To be honoured by one’s country is significant and should not be taken for granted. I do not, and can never take this for granted. To be among the favoured ones is a huge honour, For me, it is also a call to continue to do my best for Nigeria-a country that has done so much for me. It is a call to continue to work for the prosperityof our country, and good governance in our land.”
