Geng Quangrong, 47-year-old Chinese national, has disclosed why he stabbed his girlfriend, Ummu Kulthum, to death in Kabuga Quarters, Dorayi Babba area of Kano State.
Geng alleged that Ummu had promised to marry him, but later reneged on the promise after he had spent so much money on her.
The suspect, who was arrested after he attacked and killed his 23-year-old girlfriend in her home (on Friday night), September 16, said he did it because he was betrayed.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspect invaded the deceased home after scaling the fence to gain access and repeatedly stabbed her until she passed away.

He once attempted suicide.
A neighbour to Ummu, Abubakar Mustapha said that she was a divorcee and the suspect was her boyfriend.
