Wednesday’s morning’s acceptance speech by President-Elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, brought out the other side of him: his comical part.
Though he tried to stay on the message, he made jokes that sent his supporters reeling with laughter most of the time.
For instance, after thanking his wife, Oluremi, a Pastor and Senator representing Lagos Central for the solid support she gave him, Tinubu lowered his rimless glasses and said, as if warning her colleagues in the Senate: “You the Senators, don’t expect her back. She is going to be my housewife and First Lady.”
Oluremi, herself, led her husband on as she quipped:”The other room…”
Tinubu got the message and smilingly said: “Enough!. Enough of lending. The other room…”
Turning to Oluremi, he concluded: “If you are not tired of me, I won’t be tired of you.”
And the crowd roared in laughter.
