The Chairman, Ikale Heritage Development Association, IHDA, an umbrella body for Ikale in Lagos for BOS, Otunba Sola Olatunji has congratulated the Lagos State governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo Olu and his deputy, Dr Femi Hamzat.
In a special message to the governor on Monday morning, Olatunji described the victory as a sweet one and landslide but “a very hard victory over gangsterism.”
Olatunji also uses the occasion to thank the entire Yoruba race for standing in solidarity with Lagos State to protect the heritage of Yorubaland.
“No doubt, the contest has been fiercely fought and won and we give all the glory to the Almighty God,” Olatunji said in the message. “We also need to appreciate all the electorate who were moved by the sterling qualities of the governor as a leader and were resolute in giving him the mandate for a second term.”
Olatunji, however, advises the Governor and his team not to allow governance to disconnect them from the grassroots because every politics is local, stressing that the renewed mandate is a clarion call to the governor to ensure that the dividends of democracy get to the people. He added that the mandate is a golden opportunity for Governor Sanwo-Olu to etch his name in gold in the historic annals of Lagos State forever.
The IHDA boss also called on the governor to build on the successes of his first term by making Lagos the real Mega City in the next four years.
“Congratulations, once again, and wishing you a successful tenure as it is expected that with this victory, Lagos State is better positioned to get the best attention from Abuja for the next four years.
