Former American President, Donald Trump, scored an ignoble first on Thursday as he became the first former President in the history of the United States to be indicted for a crime.
A report monitored on CNN said a grand jury in Manhattan, New York, voted, on Thursday, to indict him on charges related to hush money payments to an adult film maker and actor Stormy Daniels, in 2016, shortly before election day.
Trump ran for president in the vote and won, defeating former First Lady, and ex-Secretary of State, Mrs.Hillary Clinton.
Thursday’s indictment may have far reaching implications for Trump’s ambition to return to the White House in 2024.
It is not clear how his fans’ base would react to the indictment.
However, CNN hinted that Trump may be arrested as early as next week.
