These, certainly, are not the best of times for the Senate Chief Whip and former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
This is because his wife, Mrs. Ifeoma Ada Kalu, has passed on in the United States of America.
The former governor personally announced the tragic incident, Monday, via a post he issued on his official social media page, disclosing that Ifeoma has died at the age of 61.
He described her as a woman of virtue who, during her lifetime, was committed to the service of God and humanity.
Here are Kalu’s exact words: “With a heavy heart and pain, we announce the passing on to the eternal glory of Mrs Ifeoma Ada Kalu aged 61.
“She was a woman of virtue who was committed to the service of God and humanity.
“A memorial service in her honour is scheduled to hold in the United States of America.”
The grieving Senate Chief Whip then urged the public to remember his departed wife and her loved ones in prayers during this difficult period.
