IGP Celebrates Media Queen, Funmi Wakama, on Retirement, Chieftaincy Title

The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has felicitated with the immediate past General Manager of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Abeokuta, Mrs. Funmi Wakama, who retired recently after 35 years of dedicated service.

It was double celebration recently as Mrs. Wakama and her husband, Ene, were honoured the chieftaincy titles of Fiwagboye and Yeye Fiwagboye of Owu respectively by the Olowu of Owu, Oba Saka Matemilola, in the Ogun State capital.
In a statement, the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, quoted the IGP as having praised  the commitment, diligence, and exemplary leadership qualities of Mrs. Wakama, all of which, the IGP noted, helped the Media Queen ’s leave  an indelible mark on the broadcasting industry and the nation as a whole.
“Her steadfast dedication to her profession and her unwavering commitment to upholding the values of integrity and excellence have set a shining example for all,” the IGP said.

The IGP, Adejobi further noted, “is pleased to acknowledge and celebrate Mrs Wakama’s well-deserved conferment of a chieftaincy title by the esteemed Olowu of Owu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola, Oluyalo Otileta VII.
“This recognition is a testament to her outstanding contributions to both the media sector and the wider community, and it underscores the respect and admiration she has garnered throughout her illustrious career.”
And as Mrs Wakama begins a new phase of her glorious journey so far on earth, “the IGP wishes her a retirement filled with happiness, good health, and the fulfilment of all her aspirations. Her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come, and her impact will be felt far beyond the realm of broadcasting.”
