Okuama Attack: 17 Slain Soldiers for Burial Wednesday

The Nigerian Army announced, on Tuesday, that the 17 military personnel ambushed and murdered at Okuama community in Delta State while on a peace mission recently, will be buried at the National Cemetery, Abuja, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
The Army announced the event on its official X handle, informing that it would commence at 3p.m. prompt, with President Bola Tinubu in attendance.
It would be recalled that the 17 military personnel, including a Colonel, two Majors, and a Captain, were ambushed and killed by some people during a communal clash over a land dispute between Bomadi and Okuoma communities in the state.
The gallant officers and soldiers were attached to the 181 Amphibious Battalion, and were reportedly responding to a distress call when they were ambushed and killed.
The mindless killings provoked national outrage with seek justice for the dead soldiers.
Reacting to the massacre, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordered the Military High Command to hunt and apprehend the perpetrators of the heinous crime and bring them to justice.
The Senate passed the same resolution, asking for the criminals to be arrested and made to account for their crime.
