The men in white! Many motorists dread them like plagues from the bottom of hell. Their ubiquitous presence, no-nonsense stance, and sometimes exploitative dispositions while on patrol, send jitters down the spines of motorists who, due to one reason or another, should not be on the road by VIO’s prescription. Indeed, for many motorists, the fear of operatives of the Directorate of Road Services, a.k.a VIO, marks the beginning of wisdom.
However, their reign on the roads may have come to an end.
This is because, a Federal High Court in Abuja, Thursday, ordered that they (VIOs) should immediately cease confiscating vehicles or imposing fines on Nigerian motorists over road traffic violations.
