Sad Day for Mele Kyari; Loses Daughter, 24

These certainly are not the best of times for the Group Chief Executive Officer, GCEO, of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Engr. Mele Kyari.

The NNPCL boss has been plunged into deep mourning as he lost his 24-year-old daughter, Fatima Kyari, on Friday.

The 24-year-old has since been buried in Abuja according to Islamic rights.

The young woman’s death was disclosed via a condolence message posted on X by a former aide of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Bashir Ahmad.

Ahmad wrote: “Deepest condolences to @MKKyari, OFR, the GCEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, on the passing of his 25-year-old daughter, Fatima Kyari.

“She passed away on Friday morning and has since been buried in Abuja according to Islamic rites. Allah ya jikan ta.”

Vice President Kashim Shettima is saddened by the tragedy and has consoled with Mele Kyari and his Family in their sad loss.

The Vice President, in his message, prayed for the repose of the deceased and asked God to grant the family strength during this very difficult period.
