Former Minister of Interior, and two-term Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, has been suspended from the All Progressives Congress, APC, by the Osun State Chapter of the party.
The suspension, according to the party, takes immediate effect, and will remain in force till the outcome of disciplinary proceedings against him.
“The Ilesa East Exco believes swift action will restore party discipline and deter other members from engaging in anti-party activities,” said a report quoting party sources.
In a resolution submitted to the National Chairman of APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the state Executive Committee detailed allegations levelled against Aregbesola.
These include: party fictionalisation, i.e., forming splinter groups and parallel organs; collaborating with opposition parties to unsettle the APC in Osun; and public outbursts against party leaders, including President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
