NIN is Free, NIMC Insists, Vows to Arrest Staff or Front End Partners Caught Extorting Applicants

For the umpteenth time, the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, has maintained that enrollment for the National Identification Number (NIN) is free.
“The Commission does not charge nor authorise any Staff or its Front End Partners (FEP) to charge applicants for the NIN enrolment,” the Commission declared in a press statement issued by the Commission’s Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. Kayode Adegoke.
“To this end, the Commission has directed security agencies to track any staff or FEPs caught extorting applicants for NIN enrollment,” Adegoke said. “Anyone caught will be sanctioned appropriately in line with the provisions of the law, and the license of such FEP will be withdrawn.
