Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi Congratulates New Owa, Oba Adesuyi Haastrup

The Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, has felicitated with His Imperial Majesty, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, on the ascension to the throne of his forefathers as the 41st Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland.

He also made a passionate plea to Oba Haastrup, who is the new Deputy Chairman of the Osun State Council of Obas, to move quickly in extending the olive branch to other contestants, especially of his Bilaro Ruling House, for the peace and progress of Ijesaland.

The process of his emergence may not be perfect, Asiwaju Fasuyi observed, but Ijesas have gone too far to look back. He, therefore, appeals to all Ijesas, at home and in the diaspora, to support the new monarch for the greater good of Ijesaland.

CONGRATULATORY  MESSAGE

I salute the great people of Ijesa Kingdom!

Your Patriotism is Unparalleled!

Your Nationalism is Unequalled!

Your Chauvinism is Legendary!

Your Allegiance to the Spirit of Obokun is Unquantifiable!

Your Abiding Faith in Ijesaland is Unquestionable!

The last few days have been the most testing of our strength, yet we overcame!

The last few days have been full of anxiety, yet we have overcome!

The last few hours have been full of uncertainties, but yet we have overcome!

What we all have at stake in all these moments of apprehension, anxiety, and uncertainties are the uncompromising peace in Ijesaland; the love-driven unity amongst our people in Ijesaland; and above all, our collective determination to champion sustainable Community-Driven Development in the entire Ijesaland!

It is too late to turn back on these values!

It’s too late to jettison what we are envied for!

It’s too late to adorn a new cultural identity!

The selection process of our new Imperial Majesty Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, the Ajimoko III may not have been 100% perfect, but all of us as Ijesas owe it a duty to jealously protect and preserve those values that have distinctly characterised us as forward looking race and trusting that our new Imperial Majesty would heal all perceived wounds with prompt initiation of reconciliatory mechanism with other Contestants from his Bilaro Ruling House.

The developmental tasks ahead of our new Imperial Majesty are not only very huge but also very demanding and we cannot afford to distract him, hence, my sincere appeal to all aggrieved parties in this royal contest to sheath their respective swords in order for us to sustain the tempo of our sustainable development in Ijesaland.

Yeye Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Dr Olubisi Fasuyi and I heartily felicitate with your Imperial Majesty on your historic enthronement, today.

In a similar vein, I wish to convey the heartfelt congratulations of the revered Trustees, Management, and esteemed Members of Ijesa Community Development Assembly (ICDA)- the Frontline Ijesaland Community Developers to your Imperial Majesty on the ascension to the throne of your ancestors.
