The people of Kwara State went on wild jubilation after the All Progressive Congress, APC, clinched gubernatorial victory over the People’s Progressive Party, (PDP) on Sunday.
Chairman of Kwara State APC, Bashir Bolarinwa told journalists that the people have every reason to rejoice, pop champagne and dance round the towns.
“This victory is sweet,” Bolarinwa said. “The people of Kwara have spoken and it is loud enough for the world to hear their voice.
“The battle to free Kwara started last year when we formed a parallel APC faction because the party was not doing enough. Today, we dedicate this victory to God and people of Kwara State.”
Bolarinwa buttressed the magic of ‘O to ge’ slogan which he says is a coinage of the governor-elect which started as a move to say enough to godfatherism in the state.
“Godfatherism has held Kwara and its people in bondage for decades but today we are set free.
“Kwara people used the February 23 Presidential election to show the PDP red card and today the people have seen the end of Saraki dynasty in Kwara State.”
