The governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu stormed Aso Rock Villa on Tuesday to lobby President Muhammadu Buhari to support his second term bid.
Akeredolu is trying to avoid the banana pill that scuttled the dream of his Edo State counterpart, Godwin Obaseki who was disqualified by the All Progressive Congress, APC, screening committee, last week.
Though Akeredolu told Aso Villa correspondents that he received President Buhari’s blessing for his re-election bid, he confirmed that he was however ready for the primary either direct or indirect.
Gov. Akeredolu expressed his confidence that the people of Ondo State would return him to office because of his record of achievements in the last three-and-a-half years.
Akeredolu was the second state governor to pay a courtesy visit to President Buhari today (Tuesday).
