Okonjo-Iweala Hails #ENDSARS, Wants a One-Nigeria Approach
Former Minister of Finance, and sone of the two shortlisted candidates for the coveted position of Director General of the World Trade Organisation, WTO, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on Sunday, weighed in on the ongoing #ENDSARS protests, commending the protesting youths for their “resourefulness and courage.”
The former Minister said this on her Twitter page.
“Powerful to let your voice be heard,” she said, but advised that the youths “Let’s join hands for a positive outcome through a One Nigeria approach.“

The former Nigerian Finance Minister got a big boost for her candidacy for the WTO top job, on Friday, October 17, 2020, when the 55-member African Union, AU, threw their weight behind her ambition.
The endorsement by the AU brings the number of countries that have supported her so far to 79 out of the 164 countries that comprise the WTO.
Reacting to the AU endorsement at a virtual press conference on Friday, October 17, 2020, Okonjo-Iweala said: “I feel the wind behind my back.”
