This is the season of visits! Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe state has taken his cue from politicians like Sule Lamido and Bukola Saraki in trying to sway the support of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to their sides. At various times, they called on the former President at his Abeokuta home.
Not to be outdone, Dankwabo too followed suit. On Tuesday, 14 August, he held a close door meeting with Obasanjo. These politicians want to be president of Nigeria on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The governor who arrived the meeting venue in Abeokuta met the former president at his private residence located at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library(OOPL) in Abeokuta.
The meeting lasted for about an hour, after which the governor referred the journalists to one of the PDP secretetiats in Ogun, (the Sikirulai Ogundele faction) for further information..
