[UPDATED] Anambra: INEC Declares Guber Poll Inconclusive But Soludo Sweeps 18 of 21 LGAs

Though the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, its candidate, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, swept 20 0f 21 Local Government Areas, they will have to wait till Tuesday, November 9, 2021, for their victory party.

This is because there will be no former declaration of a winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, until that date.

Making the announcement, early Monday morning (12.20a.m.local time), INEC ruled that no election held in Ihiala Local Government Area due to security concerns and the process would be incomplete without giving the people of Ihiala LGA the opportunity to exercise their franchise.

Consequently, the Returning Officer for the State, Prof. Florence Obi, also the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, said supplementary election will be conducted in the 326 polling units in Ihiala Local Government Area on Tuesday.

However, given the results so far announced, Prof. Soludo is poised to take over from the incumbent governor, Chief Willie Obiano.
