Free Medical Outreach Solely Sponsored By Ikale Heritage Development Association –Olatunji

Chairman of the Ikale Heritage Development Association, Otunba Sola Olatunji has debunked reports in some publications that last weekend’s  Free Medical Outreach where over a hundred Ikale people received free medical check-up and drugs was co-sponsored by certain foundations.

Olatunji said that the medical outreach was borne out of the desire to liberate the Ikale people from ignorance and lukewarm attitude to health issues and was solely sponsored by the IHDA.

“The outreach was solely funded by the Ikale Heritage Development Association,” Olatunji said. “We did not do it in collaboration with any foundation, as reported in one of the newspapers.

“We have adequately acknowledged those who assisted us to make the event a huge success, like the FIDSON Heathcare PLC,Genrocare and the Lagos State government which expressed implicit faith in what we are doing as a socio-cultural group in Lagos State.”

Meanwhile, Olatunji said the event was a huge success as it was graced by four commissioners representing the Lagos State government stressing that the Ikale people that came also went back rejoicing.

Olatunji in his speech enjoined other governors in the Southwest to emulate Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who has shown tremendous concern and support for the wellbeing of almost all ethnic groups in Lagos State.

“His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has once again proved that he is a father to the ethnic groups in Lagos State with his huge support for the free medical outreach,” he said. “The presence of four commissioners and a Honourable member of the state House of Assembly signifies the love the governor has for us. And I wish other governors in the Southwest can take a cue from this leadership trait of the governor.”

The chairman also added that the programme  was anchored by Professor Dayo Faduyile who was represented by  a public health physician, Dr. Japheth Olugbogi

The dignitaries in attendance include: Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu, Lagos state house of assembly representative for Epe 2 constituency, Hon. Dr. Wale Ahmed, commissioner .for local govt & community affairs; Hon. Sam Egube, commissioner . For economic planning & budget; Hon. Lekan Fatodu, SSA to gov on SDG, Hon. Mrs Solape Agagu Hammond (leader of the delegation); Hon. Mutiu Alimi representing prince (Dr.) Gen.
