Dethroned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamio, and Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje have met for the first time in two years after the monarch was dethroned.
Sanusi was dethroned in March 2020 by the Kano government, citing “total disrespect to lawful instructions from the office of the Governor”.
The duo in the now-viral video met at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
In a short clip capturing their meeting, the former Emir and Ganduje could be seen shaking hands at a lounge in the airport.
The clip has since generated mixed reactions on social media.
