Sulu-Gambari’s Bombshell: Nigeria Needs Benevolent Dictator!
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, Tuesday, took a cursory look at the State of the Nation, vis-a-vis the leadership question, and declared that what Nigeria needs to drain the swamp it is currently sprawling is a benevolent dictator.
The First Class traditional ruler said Nigeria has not had good leadership since the six-month stint of the late General Murtala Mohammed as military Head of State.
The paramount ruler dropped the bombshell, Monday, when a team from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, visited his palace in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, as part of its ongoing sensitisation effort on the redesigned Naira notes.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari declared that despite Nigeria’s strategic position and high ratings across the world, lack of good leadership remains a big dent on its image.
”Nigeria is already dangling with the present situation,” he declared matter-of-factly, “we pray it should not collapse.
“We are well rated all over the world, it’s only leadership we lack.
”It was only Gen. Murtala Mohammed’s six months tenure that has been good for the country, afterwards we have never had any government like his.
”What we need is a benevolent dictator to put things in place.”
