Ghanaian international football star, Thomas Partey, has told Arsenal FC that he wants to play in the European Champions League this season.
The rumour in the mill is rife that the midfield maestro is poised for a mouthwatering move to Saudi Arabia or the Italian Serie A. But TheCrest.com reliably gathered that the former Atletico Madrid star is ready for talks with Arsenal and Mikel Arteta as he seeks clarity over his future.
Partey has two years left on his contract with the Gunners and, despite some reports, he has never told the club he wants to leave.
One of the main reasons Thomas Partey left Atletico Madrid for Arsenal in 2020 was to help get the club back into the Champions League and now that he has done that, he would like to represent them in Europe’s elite club competition.
Partey’s foray in Arsenal colour has been hampered by injuries which led to dip in form in the last two seasons.
It is believed that Arsenal missed the top 4 two seasons ago because of Partey’s injury and missed the EPL title last season as a result of Partey’s lost of form towards the end of the season.
Arsenal has made some great transfers in the market so far to upgrades the team from being a ‘nearly’ team into one with the wit and gumption to finish the job and be champions again after a 20-year wait.
At the very least, Rice, Timber and Havertz’s arrival mean they are better equipped to sustain a title challenge, having led by eight points at one stage in the middle of last season before a costly late run of two wins in eight games.
