Tinubu Condemns Plateau Attacks; Says the Murderers will not Escape Justice
...Directs Immediate Arrest of Culprits
President Bola Tinubu, Tuesday, condemned the heinous attacks in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State, during which about 140 innocent Nigerians were murdered in cold blood and over 200 houses burnt.
Between Saturday, December 23 and Christmas Day, coordinated attacks were carried out by persons who, survivors said, were Fulani herders. Apart from the gruesome killings in the two local government areas, property worth millions of naira were also destroyed and hundreds of people have been displaced in the communities affected. .
In his reaction, a sad President Tinubu directed security agencies to immediately move in, scour every stretch of the zone, and apprehend the culprits.
A release issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, also disclosed that Tinubu directed the immediate mobilization of relief resources for survivors of the primitive and cruel attacks as well as medical treatment for the wounded.
While condoling with the government and the people of Plateau State, President Tinubu assured Nigerians that these envoys of death, pain, and sorrow will not escape justice.
