Sexual Harassment: Natasha Takes Case against Akpabio to UN Inter-Parliamentary Union

The last has, certainly, not been heard about the sexual harassment war between the Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio, and the senator representing Kogi Central, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

This is because days after the senate, presided over by Akpabio, the man in the eye of the sexual harassment storm, Mrs. Akpoti-Uduaghan has taken her case to the global stage.

The suspended Kogi Central senator, Tuesday, took her case to the Women in Parliament session held at the Inter-Parliamentary Union Meeting (IPU) at the United Nations in New York, seeking justice and the intervention of global democratic institutions.

The lawmaker, who got emotional while presenting her case before the global assembly, asked for redress over what she described as the injustice meted out to her by the Nigerian senate.

Senator Natasha described her suspension from the Senate as “illegal”.

Not only that, after her speech, the embattled senator expressed worry about her security, adding that there were strong indications that she might be held against her will in New York, by “the powers that be” from Nigeria, for opening the pandora box at the global event.
