Buhari Says He’s Healthy To Lead Nigeria Four More Years in CNN Interview
Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has rubbished rumours about his failing health saying he even stronger now than he was four years ago. He said that he’s more optimistic about the future of Nigeria.
The President in an interview with the Cable News Network, CNN, said that he has the strength to lead the country for another four years, contrary to speculations in some quarters.
The interviewer had asked the President, “This is a vibrant democracy. You came in, unseating the incumbent. Are you worried the same could happen to you?”
Bursting with optimism, President Buhari responded, “No. Nobody would unseat me. I am ready to take this country forward for the next four years.
“We have 774 local governments in this country. Boko Haram used to hold 17. They are not technically holding any local government now.
“But they are indoctrinating young men and women, especially girls, wrap them up with explosives and let them explode them in soft targets like churches, mosques, marketplaces, motor parks and other places.”
President Buhari Thursday night in a broadcast highlighted his administration’s achievements.
The president also thanked the governments of European countries, the U.S and others who at one point in time helped to train the Nigerian Military on war against terror.
