The Imo State Government House, on Tuesday, got a new occupant as the Supreme Court sacked Mr. Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as Governor, and declared Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in his stead.
The Apex Court, headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mr. Tanko Muhammed, which made the landmark pronouncement, said that the APC candidate won the March 9, 2019 gubernatorial vote in the state fair and square.
Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, who read the lead judgment, ordered that Uzodinma be issued the certificate of return without delay and be sworn in immediately as the state governor.
