Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was not involved in any car accident along the Airport Road, Abuja, contrary to speculations in social media that Nigeria’s Number 2 Citizen’s car crashed and somersaulted while travelling to Owo, Ondo State, on Monday.
Pastor Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, confirmed that the Vice President was already in Ondo State as the rumour went viral on social media.
Also debunking the rumour, Mr. Richard Akinnola, Chairman, PYO Media Council, said in a release that the Vice President and leading APC presidential aspirant, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, was on his way to Owo, Ondo State, over the dastardly terrorist attack of Sunday when his convoy met an accident scene on airport road, Abuja.
“The Vice President immediately stopped his convoy and asked his ambulance to take the victims to the hospital and report to him on the state of the accident victims,” Akinnola further stated. “He immediately proceeded to board his flight to Akure.”
Akinnola appealed to the general public to disregard the report, insisting that the Vice President will later join the All Progressives Congress convention at the Eagle Square, Abuja, later today.
