COVID-19: Cross River Government Orders Its Employees to Resume

The Cross River government has ordered its civil servants to return back to work on Tuesday, April 14.

The outbreak of the ravaging coronavirus in the country had earlier informed to government to issue a stay at home advice, but it seems the government has turned back on that advice.

In a statement made available to pressmen, the spokesperson for the state governor, Ben Ayade, civil servants form grade 10 should resume on Tuesday but with a strong emphasis to wear nose masks.

The statement reads, “All returning civil servants are to receive nose masks from the COVID-19 Response Task Force through their respective permanent secretaries.

“All nose masks to be used in the state must be locally made, with the place of origin clearly marked.”

The statement further adds that selling nose masks made available by the state government will attract sanctions, as the masks are for free.

“The sale of masks made by the Cross River State Garment Factory is prohibited. Masks are to be distributed free of charge.”
