Buhari Condoles With Ebonyi on Akaeze-Ukwu River Tragedy
President Muhammadu Buhari, Saturday, condoled with the government and people of Ebonyi State over Friday’s motor accident on Akaeze-Ukwu River that claimed over 30 lives.
Buhari’s condolence message was revealed in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.
In the condolence letter, the President said: “We are saddened and aggrieved at this colossal loss of human lives,” adding that the thoughts and prayers of the government and people of Nigeria were with the families of the victims.
He commended the Ebonyi State Government for spearheading the rescue and recovery efforts as well as the support it has received from the neighbouring states.
