Hey Good morning! I am so elated by the news I get on a daily basis! Of course, there are reports of law enforcement officials who have been given the responsibility of princes and generals but have chosen to carry them out like excited slaves, but so have we also heard of nurses and doctors who stake their lives to bring the near-dead back to life
We were told of some people who should be giving us updates that are honest and uplifting but who devote their energies to caressing egos instead. We have also heard about men and women who risk their own lives to go into the darkest nooks of the nation to give hope. I bear personal witness to the great works of those who seek out the widows and the truly needy, giving as they can afford- food, money and love. They are the ones I choose to allow into my consciousness. They assure me that irrespective of who is at the top in my local government, in the state house or the presidency, Nigerians are inherently great, kind, noble and of strong character.
I choose to focus on the positives alone. It is the best because it is far more than the negatives that depress us and colour our perception! I know that I do not stand in self-delusion when I flaunt my belief in the goodness of the Nigerian! It is just the noise of the naysayers that has proven louder than the accolades that we allow ourselves. While I wait for this cursed virus to pass, I hold myself in readiness of the greatness, the new bubble and fresh energy with which we will burst forth…again! You cannot keep a good people down, no, not even a coronavirus!
As we wait, let us just keep ourselves safe, healthy, obeying the new laws that are intended to protect us, cooperate with the government agents knowing that they too would rather be somewhere else… Above all, let us give more love and kindness than others have shown us… It will soon be over, hunger will cease, we shall be free again.
