Mohbad: Court Grants Naira Marley, Sam Larry N20m bail
On Monday, some reprieve came the way of controversial singer, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, a.k.a Sam Larry, as a Yaba Magistrate Court granted them bail in the sum of N20million with three responsible duties.
The Crest recalls that on October 6, 2023, duo, and two others, were arraigned before the court, and were subsequently remanded over their alleged involvement in the circumstances surrounding the death of budding music star, Ilerioluwa Aloba, a.k.a. Mohbad.
In addition, the magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, ordered the defendants to submit their international passports and report weekly to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba.
“As part of the bail conditions,” Olatunbosun ruled, “the defendants are to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department,” Olatunbosun ruled.
The Magistrate similarly warned that no one should contact her directly on the case.
“Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings,” she said.
