Mother’s Release: Siasia Thanks Nigerians, Says I Can Now Battle FIFA
After Seventy six gruesome days inside the Bayelsa State’s creek and in the custody of kidnappers, 76-year-old mother of former Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia was finally released on Sunday.
The embattled Siasia has thus expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their prayers and support after her mother and other family members were released by kidnappers.
Mrs Ogere Siasia and two others were seized in Odoni, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State in July.
This is the second time in four years that the 76-year-old will be kidnapped.
She was abducted in November 2015 by three men on a motorbike in the same village.
According to Siasia: “I received a call from my wife this morning that my mom and others have been released. I am grateful to Nigerians for their prayers and to everyone that had a hand directly or indirectly in their release.
“My mom is fine but she has to go for medical checkup. I can now shift focus to the FIFA issue.”
When contacted, the spokesman for the Bayelsa State Police Command, DSP Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident.
