Some other high profile deaths include Salisu Lado, Nene Umma, Garba Sarki Fagge, Adamu Isyaku Dal, former executive secretary, SUBEB and mother of the renowned businessman, Ado Gwanja.
The list continues with Nasiru Maikano Bichi, Secretary, students Affairs, North-West University, Kano, Aliyu Umar Dikko, a professor in the Department of Physiology, Bayero University, Kano, all dead.
It should be recalled that Kano has not been able to carry out COVID-19 tests since Wednesday, following the suspension of testing by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control to fumigate the testing centres.
So far, there are no pointers to connect the increasing deaths to COVID-19. Medical experts have cited other reasons for the possible deaths to be with the unfavourable weather being experienced in the state amongst many other reasons.
The experts also said it would be too early to assume the deaths were caused by coronavirus.
’’The deaths have to be investigated by epidemiologists to determine reasons behind the increasing deaths,‘’ said Dr Usman Bashir of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
There have been over 600 deaths reported in Kano.
