How and why did Senator Shehu Sani dump Saraki to queue up behind Buhari? It is the result of appeal by the trio of Tinubu, Oshiomhole and Balarabe Musa.
Balarabe Musa was one of the first to call Shehu Sani. He told him:” If you are truly an activist you won’t join the PDP”.
Tinubu and Oshiomhole assured him that he can achieve all his aims in the APC. Indeed, Oshiomhole told him:” remember all the years of the struggle. Ideologically, APC is the party for you. ”
After the meetings with Tinubu and Oshiomhole, Sani ran to his friend, Senator Hunkuyi to try to persuade him to remain in APC, but Hunkuyi said his mind was made up to move.
In the end, President Buhari was extremely surprised and delighted to have Shehu Sani on his side. He told Shehu: ” You have shown that you are indeed a comrade”.
