Bayelsa State Government revealed on Friday, that is has recorded its first COVID-19 death.
The state COVID-19 Task Force made this revelation in a press conference in Yenagoa, the capital.
The task force said the victim was a military man that developed severe respiratory distress, as a result of the virus.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Bayelsa State currently has 12 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
