BY TAIWO FAROTIMI

Emmanuel Uduaghan, former governor of Delta State has been in government since the advent of civilian administration in 1999. He was a commissioner and secretary to the state government before he ruled the state as governor for two terms. But he has a new agenda for people of his constituency. That is why he wants their mandate to go to the Senate.
In case you wonder what he wants to do for the people that he had not been able to do for the length of time that he had been in public office, he says there are so much he has in stock for them. First, he wants to sponsor a bill that will guarantee that each mineral producing community in the Niger Delta gets five percent of the oil and non-oil firms operating in their domain.
He made his plans known at a forum organized by Isoko Youths in the state.
The part ownership of the companies is not the only thing that he would be fighting for them for. He will also embark on youth empowerment programmes that will ensure they have skills and be able to do things on their own. For those who may not yet have entrepreneurial skills , he would ensure that they are engaged in the security of the oil installations in the region. Uduaghan believes that since they will be part owners of the business ventures, the youth will guard such facilities jealously.

The former governor also implored them to work for the peace of the environment so they can enjoy the good plans of a caring government under President Muhammadu Buhari.
