Arsenal star, Thomas Partey is alleged to have been arrested for rape in North London after he missed the trip to Germany with the rest of the team for the pre-season tour.
This contradicts earlier reports stating that the Ghanaian international was in Germany with the rest of the squad.
Partey’s name has been trending in the last 24 hours after reports that a 29-year-old Premier League footballer was arrested on suspicion of rape in North London.
Many football fans on social media have been quick to claim that Partey is the footballer who has been arrested since the other 29-year-old footballers in north London are either active on social media or on holiday abroad.
Chris Wheatley had earlier tweeted that Partey was with the rest of the squad in Germany however, he deleted his tweet and has now provided an update.
Arsenal fans will be hoping that it is not Partey or any Arsenal player that is involved in this, for now nothing has been confirmed.
