Residents of Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos woke up Sunday morning with a deafening multiple explosions of fuel tankers that claimed one life and left many still battling with survival in the hospital.
The early morning explosion involving four tankers is reported to have caused an unimaginable gridlock along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway even as officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Police, Lagos State Fire Service and LASTMA were on ground to put out the bellowing fire which has been burning for hours.
They also are trying to divert traffic to the outbound lane to ease vehicular movement.
The wreckage of the tankers are still being cleared by earth-moving equipment and high capacity tow vehicles as at the time of reporting the accident
